5 STEPS TO A HAPPY LIFE

In today's fast pace world it can be difficult to find time to prioritise anything other than work, work and more work. There is such massive pressure to perform better and have everything from the latest phone to the most expensive outfit that having any sense of individuality and peace seems all but a distant dream. We are all lost in a multitasking sea of stress and over-stimulation.


But all is not lost. The decisions you make everyday are the most powerful weapon you have to protect yourself, and better still, embrace the wonderful opportunities this incredible life has to offer.


Some of these steps you may already do unconsciously, but try a few out and see what you can do to create those precious pockets of time to help light up your day and give you a boost of goodness and positivity. See how powerful your mindset and intention can be...


1. Breathe. Simple I know, but you would be surprised how many of use forget to do this properly. When everything feels like it is getting on top of you and you are going to explode STOP! Just stop. Sit up straight, relax your shoulders and inhale deeply. Hold that breath for a count of 5 and then breathe out. EXHALE. Let go of the stress. Let go of the tension. Let go of the pressure. Exhale the crap out and be real about the situation you are in. That breath you take is yours and yours only. Enjoy it.


2. Smile and laugh. How many people do you see walking around these days, head down, probably looking at a phone with no idea of what is happening in the world around them. I dare you to try looking up and smiling at someone. See how it can change your whole mindset to just decide to be happy. That may seem like a funny concept, but the choice is yours to take. Connect with the world and people around you and find the happiness that lives in your soul. It's there, I promise! Just let it free.



3. Do something that scares you. Sometimes we need a reminder that we are alive. We need that something that is going to push us out of our comfort zone and make every cell in our body tingle with the excitement of what is to come. It is an eye opening experience to do something


that your mind thinks is going to induce such a sense of terror, but choosing to feel the fear and do it anyway. Embracing an emotion that feels so incredibly inhibiting and welcoming it as your friend allows you to see just what an amazing human being you really are. You have the opportunity to take your life in whatever direction you choose so free yourself of those constraints and see what you are really made of.



4. Let go of what you cant control. Holding onto the toxic waste of the past can be devastating to being able to live a happy fulfilled life. This is a pretty tricky step, but an essential one to be able to find the happiness and peace in your life, here, today.


The past is there to learn from, not resent. Finding the strength to let go of things that have gone or things that are currently going on that you have no power over, and being honest with yourself about it, is the single most important step to releasing the baggage that is dragging you down. I am not for a second suggesting that those things will no longer be important to you. Stories from our past make up the person we are today, but they do not dictate the future. BUT try acknowledging them and then letting them go, and then take a moment to thank them for what they have taught you...




5. Be thankful. When life is moving past us so fast and there seems to pressure coming at you from all angles, this can be pretty challenging to do. But the world we live in is a gift...our friends, family, the strangers we meet, the air we breathe, the moment of happiness we feel when we find a moment of peace, the excitement we feel when we have achieved something important to us, the opportunity to be part of the energy that this world was created on...these are gifts to you everyday. Be thankful for them. Recognise the positives and all the choice that is yours to embrace. Live life appreciating all that is wonderful and amazing and see how suddenly your glass becomes half full!
